Review: RICK AND MORTY: RICKLEMANIA #2
Overview
After Jerry signed an exploitative contract with PRO Energy Drink, Rick and Morty are thrust into the ring on his behalf. And as Rick and Morty dive elbow-first into their increasingly dangerous matches, Rick becomes consumed by his new wrestling persona. Meanwhile, Morty’s thin skin starts to become a problem, making Rick question: Is a 14-year-old boy really up to the task of professional wrestling? Who’d’ve thunk it?!
Our Take
MARC ELLERBY returns with a new issue of Rick and Morty’s “Ricklemania” set up and, quite frankly, this month’s issue felt more like an episode of WWE Raw where everyone just cuts promos and then we get three boring matches over the course of three hours. We get a bit of set up of introducing Beth and Jerry for the short series but that’s about it.
MARC ELLERBY not only does the story for this month’s issue but the artwork and overall I have no complaints in that department including quite a few double pages with a good amount of impressive details. The artwork is the strength this month for sure in what really is a bit of a story filler issue that may be necessary for later issues.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
