Review: Hammer And Bolter “Return to Cadia”

We are making a poignant comeback to the remnants of the once-majestic fortress world, Cadia that has unfortunately turned into a shrine of martyrs. This journey back to the iconic territory is offering fans exactly what they have been looking for – a glimpse into the aftermath of Cadia’s fall. And all those who have been eagerly waiting to discover the region’s mystery buried in the debris, Return to Cadia is a treat to watch.

The focus in this series lies on what the troops of Cadia uncover as they venture into what has now transformed into a mega mess of ruins. The makers have been rather successful in maintaining their signature grim atmosphere throughout the series – something that they have been known for. Adding an extra layer of authenticity and gleam is the kind of animation used. The animation experiences a transition from earlier Hammer & Bolter episodes’ traditional 2D visuals to a fully rendered 3D format. This sits in line with recent Warhammer productions like Pariah Nexus and The Tithes. Well, to be honest, some are going to miss the original 2D format – because somehow that felt easier to connect with. However, this shift perfectly embosses the intent of the makers. The story is awesomely gripping – giving viewers a dose made out of their own expectations. Yes, after all, who doesn’t want to witness the valor of the Cadian soldiers! The series does it, it shows you their capabilities, their determination, and their willingness to go to extreme lengths for their land.

All in all, we would strongly recommend that you give this one a shot. Return to Cadia is a shiny piece of trademarked fabric from Warhammer textiles. Warhammer vibes in loads! What are your thoughts on this Return to Cadia? Let us know what you think in the comments section below:
