English Dub Review: Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms “Halloween with Him”

Overview:

Mona sets out for the Halloween party, focusing on making Medaka’s lockscreen.

Our Take:

Look… I understand that at first Mona wanted to get Medaka to fall for her like everyone else she’s known. When it didn’t happen easily, she had to pull out some of the stops and give it her all and it still didn’t work. In the process of doing that, she’s starting to fall for him, but since she’s never fallen for anyone before, she doesn’t know why she’s feeling jealous when Medaka is taking a bunch of selfies with other girls.

On the flipside of that, Medaka takes a selfie with every girl BUT Mona. He says it’s because he doesn’t like taking pictures and was all “pictured” out. I think he’s also falling for Mona and doesn’t know what that feels like, so he reacts in mean ways. This is also due to him wanting to join a shrine, and I guess if you work at a shrine you have to be celibate, and Mona makes that difficult, I suppose. If you ask me though, he’s in love with her and doesn’t know what to do with those feelings so he freaks out. I’m a bigger fan of Asahi, and if he’s going to date someone, I think she’s a better fit because at least she’s honest with her feelings.
