English Dub Review: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? “(Einherjar) The Warriors of the Goddess”

Overview:

Only two adventurers stand between the allied army and Freya. Unfortunately, Ottarl and Allen are the Freya Familia’s most formidable warriors.

Our Take:

I understand giving us backstories of characters to make us understand why they are the way they are. But for one, we are too far into this arc for it to matter to me because as far as I’m concerned these guys are dicks. Two, because they are such huge dicks it doesn’t matter to me, look I can understand that something happening to someone is WHY they are awful but they’re still awful. If you wanted me to feel bad for someone, then you should have given me this backstory before they did terrible things to characters we like.

We have one more episode left before season five comes to an end, and it seems like there are too many threads to close up in one episode. But I could be wrong and Bell manages to plow through Ottar but he’s been kicking their ass for a few episodes now. This arc started as something that intrigued me, but now I want it to end. I’m hoping that the last episode wraps this up nicely and brings my enjoyment back, but other than a few twists and turns, this war game has gotten boring.
