English Dub Review: Oshi No Ko “Reunion”
Overview:
The past never truly disappears. Aqua and Ruby return to where they were born… and where they also died in another life.
Our Take:
I knew that Kana wouldn’t be happy when she learned that Akane was going on the trip with them. Ruby’s reaction to Akane coming didn’t help either. I know that if I had a crush on someone I heard their sibling calling their current significant other “big sis” I would be upset. I’m surprised that no one other than Memcho has noticed that Kana has feelings for Aqua it’s pretty obvious.
What wasn’t obvious was why people would ever think Ruby and Aqua would have a chance to be involved romantically. I understand that they’re reincarnated so in some ways they are not siblings but umm it’s still weird. But it’s an anime trope for a reason, and the reason is important, why would Ruby ever have feelings for Aqua? Well, Aqua is the reincarnation of the doctor Goro Amamiya who Ruby was in love with in her past life so once she finds that out it will make sense I’m sure. I bring this up because Ruby happened to be the one to discover the dead doctor’s body. Now that she knows he’s dead it’s only a matter of time until she puts two and two together.
