English Dub Review: Oshi No Ko “Dream”

Overview:

The actors shone brilliantly, and the curtain fell on a successful play. This set the stage for the next performance, as Aqua and Taiki pressed the director for answers.

Our Take:

You don’t think about that when you go to see a play, your time with the production might be over but the actors have to do it all over again. I’m not sure how 2.5-D plays work but the plays I’ve been to have multiple shows on the same day. I can’t imagine having to do that with all the effort that goes into putting on this particular play. When Kana said she was exhausted and now she has to do this for a month I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her.

I also felt sorry for Taiki Himekawa, the lead actor in the play. He had the unfortunate honor of sharing an emotional scene with Aqua when he decided to tap into the sadness of his past. I don’t think being bitten with full force was in the script but that is exactly what Aqua did to Himekawa. The biggest bombshell of the night came at the after-party, however, when Aqua revealed a DNA test confirming that Himekawa is his half-brother.
