Review: The Loud House “Love Me Tenor”

OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)

Lincoln and friends find out their local arcade/pizza shop owner is actually a talented opera singer and help him break out of his shell and onto the stage.

Happy season finale, everybody! Yeah, believe it or not, after a long nearly year-long wait, we have reached the end of the seventh season of The Loud House. And, as a small treat, it’s just one ten minute episode instead of two! Don’t you feel like you’ve come a long way on this journey and come to an emotionally satisfying and gratifying conclusion? No? Well, that makes sense, considering that of the seven episodes we’ve covered this week, this one also feels like another very regular episode, and doesn’t even focus on the Loud Family aside from Lincoln. If I haven’t said this already, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it does just feel like there isn’t much of a plan here and they’re just throwing episode ideas out there regardless of order or theme. That’s honestly pretty typical for a show at the end of its seventh season, but it’s still not a great look. T

But seriously, this episode focuses on yet another new character, at least to me, and I guess this group of school kids is the one that Lincoln regularly hangs out with, since it’s got Rusty and that Hunnicut kid. And hey, he’s a kid, so it’s good that he’s got his own social circle he gets to hang out with outside of his massive family. Also good that they have some regular hang out spots, which is where this arcade game place falls in with its owner Gus. So, the episode is about showing Gus that he can pursue his passion for singing whilst running the arcade, although there does end up being some initial complications that become the conflict of the episode, only for that to end up being resolved and…maybe we’ll see Gus continue to sing in future episodes? Like the one about the Hunnicuts becoming rich, there may or may not be some continuity with how certain things are resolved but we’ll only really know if they ever end up acknowledged again later. Anyway, that wraps up the seventh season, with a few more episodes coming next week and then a movie, so look forward to that!
