English Dub Review: The Duke of Death and His Maid “Persuasion”

Overview:

The Duke and his friends go back into the past and try to persuade Sade to break the curse.

Our Take:

Since this is only the eighth episode of what I assume will be a twelve-episode season I’m getting a bit nervous. I knew that they wouldn’t convince Sade in one episode to remove her curses but this tells me that there is going to be some serious conflict that happens in the next few episodes and it has me feeling anxious. But I’m so glad to see how far this anime has come, we rarely get to see anime reach an actual conclusion.

I love a good time travel story but this does beg the question of paradoxes. Daleth meeting Walter was a pivotal moment in her development. How will meeting him some ten years earlier change things for her? Maybe a happy ending for both her and Sade is possible but with Victor being dead for some time Sade might have to move on which is the issue. I love when you can relate to a villain, as we learn more about them. I think it’s fair to say that Sade is hurting and taking that hurt out on people that she feels are responsible for that hurt, she’s a fascinating antagonist.
