Review: Aqua Teen Hunger Force “Anubis”

Overview:

Carl and Shake attend a friendship seminar.

Our Take:

Shake and Carl go to a friendship seminar. The speaker, Anubis, tricks them into getting their friends on board in order to fulfill their desires. They don’t have as many friends as Anubis requests, but they still get roped into a pyramid scheme.

I like this episode’s clever take on a pyramid scheme. It follows an ancient Egyptian theme, so it’s easy to understand while still being funny. I also find Anbuis’ method of getting everyone involved in this scheme entertaining. It’s a bit non-sensical, but I’ve come to expect that after 12 seasons of this show.

Carl’s and Shake’s desires are pretty easy to figure out. Meatwad gets convinced that he killed his singing train toy. Meanwhile, Frylock gets promised that his hard work will finally pay off. Meatwad’s experience is the one I find non-sensical, but it’s still interesting to watch. The entire episode is enjoyable. It doesn’t exactly pan out how I thought it would, but that makes it even better.
