English Dub Season Review: Management of a Novice Alchemist Season One
Overview:
Sarasa was gifted a house to use as an alchemy storefront, but it’s smack dab in the middle of nowhere! With customers to find and supplies to gather, Sarasa has her work cut out for her as she transmutes this bad location into a golden opportunity.
Our Take:
This was an interesting anime, not super great but also not bad. Mostly, it was just a chill show that dealt with the economics of running a shop. One of the other anime I review is Jujutsu Kaisen and after the trauma that show gives me every week, I would look forward to this as something to just chill me out. Other than an episode or two near the end of the season, even when monster attacks happened I never felt like anyone was in real danger and it was more like when we read about a bear accidentally wandering into a camp or something.
I’ve noticed that Brittney Karbowski is getting a lot more work on the Crunchyroll side of things. This is of course a Sentai anime being on Hi-Dive but that’s just something I’ve noticed and I love getting more of her in anime. I brought her up because she voices the main character Sarasa and as per usual she does great. I’d never even heard of this show but when I got assigned to review it I did some research and saw she was voicing the lead and I was instantly all-in.
When it comes to reviewing something to me it comes down to whether would I recommend you watch this show. That’s hard when it comes to this because it didn’t do much of anything special. If I didn’t have to review it I imagine it never would have come up on my radar. Is it a good show? Yes, but I imagine most anime fans will be able to find something a little more enjoyable to watch.
