English Dub Review: Masamune-kun’s Revenge R “The Princess’s Confession”
Overview:
Aki tells Masamune about her past, but Masamune realizes that somehow, they remember a pivotal moment in their lives very differently.
Our Take:
One thing that was always difficult to believe about this anime was how Aki couldn’t figure out that Masamune was the same Masamune she knew. I’m sure there are many people with that name but still, with as important as a Masamune was to her you’d think she’d look into it. After this episode though there shouldn’t be any doubt. After she told her story and conveniently left out the part where she destroyed Masamune when he confessed and called him “Pig’s Foot” Masamune called her out saying “You called me Pig’s Foot!”. She didn’t seem to catch on to what he said but emotions were high so we’ll see. It’s been a few years since I read the manga so this has been enjoyable getting to refresh on some of the things I forgot.
One of the best parts of the episode was that most of it took place in the past. I believe Alexis Tipton played young Aki but young Masamune was still voiced by Jessie James Grelle. Hearing them do an impression of a young Masamune was equal parts hilarious and charming. What will be the fallout of this latest argument?
