English Dub Review: My Home Hero “Are You Happy?”

Overview:

Tetsuo and Kasen work with their old college friend to make it look like Nobuto is still alive. While trying to find out Nobuto’s password to access his social media account, Tetsuo encounters Nobuto’s father.

Our Take:

After gushing about having an anime where the husband and wife are a great team this episode worried me for a little bit. I was concerned that Tetsuo and Kasen’s old college buddy was going to try to steal her away because he did the cliche thing and asked her if she was happy. Luckily, he didn’t do the next most cliche thing and tell her that she would be happier with him or something like that. It seems that he will be a footnote in the series unless Nobuto’s father goes after him because that was the name Tetsuo gave but since he didn’t believe him I think he’ll be okay.

This anime creates tense moments really well, like when Tetsuo just happened to be drinking at the bar where Nobuto’s father was at. I was really worried that he would mention Nobuto around him and set off a whole thing. But it does seem like he knows who Tetsuo is but I’ll be honest I’m looking forward to any interactions between them, they both feel the same about their children but are on opposite sides of the issue in this case.
