English Dub Season Review: The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made Season Two
Overview:
The second season of The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made
Our Take:
In full transparency, I have to say I did not finish the entirety of the first season of this. Not that it was bad or anything but there were a lot of shows on at the time and I had to prioritize some. I mean who wouldn’t be interested in an anime where the first heroine is a gorilla that becomes a waifu?? That was pretty much what sold me.
If the previous paragraph wasn’t a good indicator to you, this isn’t an anime that takes itself seriously. So, if that is what you’re looking for you might want to go somewhere else because you got a whole adventuring party here that hangs out in speedos because they want to show off their muscles.
Like a lot of the newer Crunchyroll shows they use a lot of newer talent and I love that because getting new VAs to follow is a lot of fun for me.
I could not grasp any sort of overarching plot, but a Demon King was mentioned multiple times. Ya know standard fantasy fare. The weird thing was that the final episode of this season made it seem like the series was done but there was a post-credits scene that suggested we are just getting started. As of now, there has been no announcement of a third season but perhaps that will happen soon.
If you want to just shut your brain off, laugh and have fun this is a good series. It doesn’t take itself seriously and some of the jokes are downright hilarious. Quirky characters abound and it’s a slightly different take on standard isekai. Just watch the first season ya know… first.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
