English Dub Review: Trigun Stampede “High Noon at July”

Overview:

Knives takes away Vash’s precious memories, disabling Vash completely. He begins the final phase of the process that will change the planet forever. Meryl, however, isn’t willing to sit idly while this happens.

Our Take:

So I know that no one really knows for sure where this show stands in the timeline of the Trigun series but I think based on some of what I’ve seen this is at the very least a prequel of sorts. Mainly, because now Meryl has her design from the old show and she is about to get a new partner that from what I understand is a character in the old series as well.

Given that they left just enough open for another season and it did well from what I can tell I would expect there to be a continuation at some point. I also think that this anime was a huge step up for CGI anime because normally I hate CGI but I didn’t even feel like I was watching a complete CGI show most of the time. We got some great character development from just about everyone so it would be a shame for this to be the end.
