English Dub Review: Bluelock “Tri-Fusion”

Overview:

Isagi struggles to figure out how to make a coherent strategy that plays to his, Barou, and Nagi’s strengths before their next match begins. And their next set of opponents is all familiar faces…

Our Take:

Now, this is going to be a fun game to watch. Old teammates clash when Isagi’s team takes on Chigiri, Kunigami, and Reo. Isagi spends most of the time trying to figure out how to make a chemical reaction between his teammates. Unfortunately for him, it seems his teammates have figured theirs out a bit quicker when their team jumps out to a 1-0 lead.

The characters in this are pretty fantastic and I like how they react realistically. Sure they all have the same goal but friendships can still form. They might all be rivals but I love how the interactions still have a begrudging respect for them. Well… most of them anyway, I have a feeling that Reo hates Nagi now.

I think this match is going to take up the next few episodes and I’m excited about it. It’s rare we get to see teammates go up against each other. I loved that the boys got to see each other again and are still managing to be friends. One of the best parts about Barou joining the squad is getting to see how much of a neat freak he is.
