HBO MAX Dates Velma Series Premiere

HBO MAX has announced a January 12th start date for the upcoming premiere of new adult animated comedy Velma. 

VELMA is an adult animated comedy series telling the origin story of Velma Dinkley (Mindy Kaling), the unsung and underappreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang. This original and humorous spin unmasks the complex and colorful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers.

The series features Mindy Kaling in the titular role with Constance Wu (Daphne),Glenn Howerton (“Fred”) and Sam Richardson (Shaggy) as part of the cast.

Also announced is a filled guest cast that includes Jane Lynch (Donna), Wanda Sykes (Linda), Russell Peters (Aman), Melissa Fumero (Sophie), Stephen Root(Sheriff Cogburn), Gary Cole (Lamont Rogers), Ken Leung, Cherry Jones (Victoria), Frank Welker (William Jones), “Weird Al” Yankovic (Dandruff Tuba), Fortune Feimster(Olive), Yvonne Orji (Gigi), Sarayu Blue(Diya), Nicole Byer (Blythe Rogers), Ming-Na Wen(Carroll), Shay Mitchell (Brenda), Debby Ryan(Krista), Kulap Vilaysak, and Karl-Anthony Towns (Jacques Beau).
