English Dub Review: Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress “Xoverdress”

Overview:

As the team leader, Yu-yu has a lot to think about, especially as his match with Zakusa draws nearer. Good thing the kid has friends to help him along the way.

Our Take:

Well say what you will about Yu-yu, you won’t keep him down for long. He knows that he doesn’t have much time to mope around with another match coming up soon. So he had better put in the work and get better, and soon. Which isn’t a problem when you love the game as much as he does.

The thing about the game is you slowly start to pick up on things as it goes. I’m still not sure if it’s my thing but it does seem to be growing on me. Which means you live and die by the subject material to me. But I don’t think this is based on any other card game and I think it’s unique to the show. Unlike how the Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon anime were there to sell their card game or video game. This has a ways to go before I am super invested as I was with some of those but it is getting there.
