English Dub Review: Shoot! Goal to the Future “Shaking”
Overview:
The team is only down to nine members, but they still have to move forward. They only have two practice games lined up, so they only have two chances to win.
Our Take:
As if the team wasn’t already at a disadvantage, now they don’t even have a full team. Plus, only two other schools agreed to play practice games against them.
Amagai tries to convince the third years who quit to rejoin. Two of them seem like they want to, but for whatever reason, they keep rejecting the offers. We also find out why Kazama is so passionate about the team. I respect his reasoning, but I still find him to be overbearing and annoying.
In fact, I don’t like anybody in this episode. Every character is a flip-flop and some of them act a lot different than normal. I also hate repeating myself, but again, the melodrama is killing me. I just can’t take anything going on seriously and it just keeps getting worse.
Speaking of getting worse, I just notice how poorly animated some of these scenes are. There are several scenes that show background characters moving around with poor CGI animation. I already wasn’t too keen on the show’s visuals and this doesn’t help its case.
The episode leaves off on a bit of a cliffhanger. There’s a chance that a couple members will rejoin the team and the result of their final practice game is basically a given. We’ll just have to wait and see how everything resolves.
