English Dub Review: She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man “I Am Danblf”

Overview

Mira, Cleos, and Hinata quest through a dungeon to find the information they need. Mira realizes how heavily her 30-year absence has weighed on some…

Our Take

This episode is more of a continuation from the previous one, as it served as an easy ground test for Mira and Cleos to showcase their powers to Hinata, while avoiding pitfalls and traps in this so-called “dungeon” which was once an “archive”. I did find it funny seeing a 3D animated Rubik’s Cube. and Design-wise, the flame salamander’s felt more like Charmanders from Pokemon.

After that mission, there’s no stopping missions from Solomon to Mira, and the biggest asset is the summoned dragon Eisenfald (though it’s a bit comical when the Dragon reveals what he can actually do magic-wise). But when it comes to his/her personal assistant Mariana, Mira will have to reveal her true self as Danblf sooner or later, and decides to do it with something only Mariana would know about as proof…

Overall this was both a fun and wholesome episode. Hinata was able to solve a puzzle in less than 20 seconds which was one of the major standouts for me would have to be the Summoned creatures which were comical yet fun even if some of them felt Pokemon-inspired. And that final scene was definitely heartwarming. However, it remains to be seen what kind of end goal is there for Mira or what kind of ending it’ll have at all.
