English Dub Review: The Detective Is Already Dead “With That, We Set out on a Journey Once Again”

Overview:

Siesta has recovered and is eager to press forward with pursuing the serial killer and SPES. Alicia, however, insists on being involved, and as the two clash and sparks fly, the mystery of Alicia’s identity comes more sharply into focus.

Our Take:

Holy melodrama! Am I watching an anime or a soap opera?? I couldn’t tell with this episode with all the dumb misunderstandings and side switching. A lot of it just made no sense to me.

As close as Kimi and Siesta are built up to be their relationship seems very fragile. Like they have issues all the time even if they never turn into full-blown arguments. Don’t even get me started on the plot, it’s not really making any sense right now. Are SPES advanced beings or are they androids? Both apparently I don’t know.

The only thing currently saving this show is Kimi’s dry humor and witty responses. This is me also saying that Austin Tindle is doing a bang-up job as well. His delivery of the lines makes the comedy land even better.

I just wish there were more positives to report, the animation has pretty much dropped off entirely. It’s not the worst I have seen by any means but I guess they really did blow the whole budget in the first episode. I hope it gets better as we near the finale.
