English Dub Review: The World Ends With You The Animation “Reapers”
Overview
Neku’s second game has begun. He may have experience, but the new Game Master is out for blood, and Neku can’t fight without a partner. A mysterious boy named Joshua may be the help Neku needs, but can he be trusted?
Our Take
Holy Fuck! This episode is probably the best of the bunch so far, but it’s clear we are getting into the real meat of the story now. Neku is back in the game with a new partner this time, Kiryu who seems like a pretty smart individual. They make a powerful duo. But, there’s something odd about him. There’s a new game master as well who comes across as a bit psychotic…
We also get other interesting moments outside of Neku which would have to be Minamimoto having a badass moment although I wish he got more screen time. As for the new character that’s been introduced, Joshua. His abilities are quite something to take notice of, yet I’m not sure if it’s even possible for Joshua to become any more suspicious than he currently is.
Overall, a decent episode. The pacing may not be the best but was more than well compensated with its welcoming character additions. However Joshua may be powerful, I don’t think he can be fully trusted. He clearly knows more than he’s letting on. At the very least, it was nice to see Neku boost the morale of the other players, but the big reveal would have to be him possibly getting his memories back which gives off some serious “Jacobs Ladder” vibes and raises more questions than answers…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
