English Dub Review: Back Arrow “Is This How They Rise Up?”
Overview
Tae Howa threatens Rekka and the Edger people in a huge flying dreadnaught with the backing of Rudolf Conductore. Zetsu withdraws Rekka from the talks and Back Arrow attacks the dreadnaught with Muga, but cannot reach Howa who has securely protected himself. Atlee calls Arrow back to Granedger to meet a cloaked member of the Lind Faith who states that The Founder has foretold of Arrow’s arrival as the Newcomer and invites him to Epitaph Mountain which is beyond the Wall…
Our Take
Damn! this was pretty tense with the war drama aspect going on. It seems both sides are willing to do anything to get an advantage. A shit load of mechs was also employed in this episode. And it’s also about time Back Arrow starts getting to realize the truth of their world. And if that wasn’t enough, one of the Lind Faith’s followers showed up in front of Arrow and the rest, and predictably the answer lies beyond the wall, henceforth keeping the prophecies of Lingalind and toppling the world’s order since Arrow’s arrival.
And just when you thought one dreadnought wasn’t enough, the second half is spent fighting a completely different dreadnought & army from the other kingdom using overwhelming firepower. And Rudolph at this point is playing the role of the main villain until Arrow and others reach the Wall, Also, when the main characters actually do reach beyond the Wall, Shu mentioned quite a few times before that Arrow would need to unify Lingalind to gain both the strengths of Rekka and Lutoh in order to breach the Wall, so maybe the three dreadnoughts might combine in the future?
Overall, this was a fairly good episode. Things got resolved way too fast but for the stuff beyond the wall. The episode excelled with decent visuals, it didn’t move in the 2D parts, but the art was pretty good at times in tandem with good animation direction. The 3D battle with prax and the multiple soldiers was also very well done through utilizing a very dynamic camera. I guess we need to wait for the next episode if we want answers to that bizarre twist regarding the wall…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
