English Dub Review: Noblesse “Blood Pact / Devote”
“Blood Bond”
Overview
We learn a great deal of the events that lead to how Raizel and Frankenstein first met in Lukedonia, the country of immortal nobles. Raizel took in Frankenstein, who was a noble hunter at the time, into his mansion as personal his butler. Frankenstein protected him for several years, but then some among the nobility who had unfavorable opinions of the duo began to revolt. What big decision did the two reach in response to this particular conflict?
Our Take
While I’m left surprised at the extra backstories we get this time around on Frankenstein’s part, I still would’ve liked to see more of Raizel and yet that doesn’t really happen much. It’s strange since at the end of the episode, along with the introduction of this new character within these flashbacks by the name of “Gejutel” are looking at Raizel and commenting on how he’s changed as an individual, but that remains to be seen since Raizel just sits still and doesn’t talk for the majority of his screen-time.
However, the one thing remains kind of unclear to me is What exactly was Raizel’s duty before he met Frankenstein? The Nobel Lord seems to be hinting at something big involving the continuity of races and civilizations but what exactly does that entail to the point he is holed up in a mansion for decades?
Overall, while this wasn’t as good as theprevious episode, it does help progress in the plot further by establishing how far Raizel and Frankenstein’s relationship has developed over the years. And despite how much Raizel gave up to take him in, and his usual emotionless expression that’s become the majority of how he looks in past episodes, there’s some level of humane compassion beneath the surface, and hopefully, at some point in the future, we will get a proper explanation to understand Rai better and maybe why he has chosen such a lonely life.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
