Review: Loafy “”Loafy Gets Into Dungeons & Dragons”; “Loafy Gets Insta-Famous”

Overview

“Loafy Gets Into Dungeons & Dragons”

Loafy learns about Dungeons & Dragons after Neck (Jason Mewes) discovers a random D&D Book in the Zoo Trash…

“Loafy Gets Insta-Famous”

Under encouragement from Slippy, (Gena Gershon) Loafy, Slippy and Neck take over the Zoo’s Instagram account with surprising & hilarious results.

Our Take

While the animation of both episodes consistently delivers in unexpected laughs with the cast once again bringing their A-game in terms of improvisational humor in combination this time with decent parodies of the fantasy/role-playing scene, Will Smith, Instagram’s rabid fandom and the TruTV show “Impractical Jokers”.

The “behind the scenes” footage at the end for “Insta-Famous” was greatly expanded upon as more people within the show’s creative process are slowly introduced such as the Animation director Angela De Vito, who not only prides herself with the “Insta-Famous” episode being more Slippy-focused but reveals the surprising hardships that came with having to animate the show during the quarantine. Also, the lead character designer Javier Valdez even talks about his inspirations behind certain character designs such as Loafy’s son Beef.

Overall, both episodes remain entertaining & fun but in different ways.
