Statement Animation Is Somewhere Else In New Animated Comedy Series Now In Development

Canadian animation company Statement Animation, a division of Statement Worldwide, has announced the greenlight of its first original IP, an adult-targeted sci-fi comedy animated series titled “Somewhere Else.” Created by Matthew Celestial, the series is set to begin production this month in Toronto.

“Somewhere Else” follows the misadventures of Bevis and Rob, two emotionally drained astronauts on a desperate quest to find a new home planet after the collapse of Earth. However, their journey across the cosmos takes a darkly comedic turn as they discover that every new civilization they encounter is seemingly hiding from something unknown, inspired by the chilling Dark Forest Theory.

The series promises a unique blend of interstellar dread, comedy, and subtle existentialism, exploring themes of loneliness, survival, and the yearning for connection in a universe that appears inherently suspicious of belonging.

Further announcements regarding the distribution platform, release timing, director, and co-writers for “Somewhere Else” are expected to follow.
