“Trill League” Animated Series Ordered At Quibi With 50 Cent Producing
Adult Swim passed on a Trill League series and 50 Cent was supposed to get an animated-starring vehicle for FOX only for that also to not happen. Welp, 50 Cent has teamed up with Anthony Piper and Jameel Saleem (South Park) for Trill League which has now been ordered by Quibi.
Trill League features a roster of black superheroes who have to save the world from monsters, supervillains, and of course, your social justice warriors. 3 Arts is producing the series with 50 Cent for Quibi which is set to launch in April. This order follows the recently announced Andy Cohen series also coming to the new short-form streaming service.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
