English Dub Review: Black Clover “The Raging Bull Joins the Showdown!!”

To set their plan in motion to permanently stay in reincarnated bodies and to cause a mass Genocide towards humanity, the Key plot Mcguffin they’ll need is a gem-necklace worn by Yuno, but it’s here when one of the Elves known as “Rhya” reveals that he created new artificial bodies for Fana and Vetto to reincarnate into. The Apostles of Sephira, ten elves capable of receiving divine revelations, begin opening a door to the underworld, named the Shadow Palace, which was sealed under Clover Castle for thousands of years by ancient elves and humans. Baval explains this will make the reincarnations permanent while the human souls will all be sent to the underworld.

In an effort to protect their fellow Elf-Apostles, the remaining elves decide to kill everybody but are stopped by the timely arrival of Asta, the other Bulls and the base and most of the elves are completely overwhelmed. Patry determines that the Witch amongst the Black Bulls called “Rouge” poses the most danger and sends the elf Reve, possessing the “Coral Peacock” magic school captain Dorothy Unsworth, to deal with her. You’d think they’d instantly win, but Reve casts a spell that teleports Vanessa, Rouge, Luck, Magna, Charmy, and Sally to an inescapable dream world, removing the Bulls most powerful defensive fighters yet doesn’t kill them.

As Drowa and Patry destroy the base. Rades and Valtos chase after Patry while Henry loses control and starts draining everyone’s magic. Noelle’s armor disappears as her magic runs out. Yami and Jack chase the Apostles into the Shadow Palace. Eclat casts a spell that binds, paralyzes and drains the magic of the remaining Bulls, but the spell is nullified by Asta. Drowa identifies Asta’s new sword as something that could potentially pose a threat to their plans, but the episode ends when the Bulls, despite being irritated by the real Gauche’s personality, swear they will all return him to normal.

Our Take

This is Black Clover at its finest, I don’t know how the series will continue after this arc, or how other things like the diamond kingdom will sound interesting. We also have amazing resolutions to characters like Noele and Finral. It’s just the best thing ever. Very glad to also see Dorothy. I won’t be surprised if she can manifest the things that her enemies are afraid of, in her dream world. But the Black Bulls despite losing their magical mech suit which was basically shaped like a literal Bull after their school is now destroyed and yet they all have a strong will, they are the perfect counter.

I wonder when they will mention the big demon thing again, since the last time it was mentioned, we have found out that the elves leader turned into a demon for revenge, right? Which means Licht. as we caught a glimpse of in the intro could be a “Final Boss” of sorts for them of sorts, As far as I can tell, Everything so far in the show’s intro has visually happened yet the last thing that hasn’t happened yet is Yuno’s Necklace being used for a ritual so in my mind it simply looks too important that they’d have to show it at some level.

With the heroes now at somewhat a disadvantage, I’m curious how they’ll get themselves out of this proverbial pickle and I look forward to finding out!
