“Final Space” Creator Hints At Season Three Pickup
Tonight we celebrate the season two finale of Adult Swim’s very good Final Space, but it’s sounding more and more like we won’t have to wait long for renewal news. Show creator Olan Rogers has tweeted a very cryptic message with a video that seems to imply that Final Space has been picked up for a third season and that an official announcement is forthcoming.
In terms of overnight ratings, Final Space Season Two has routinely received more viewers for Adult Swim than the entire time the show was on TBS for the first season. This is great news, and as such, we should see the show continue to air with original premieres on Adult Swim moving forward.
Final Space is created by YouTube sensation, Olan Rogers, and Emmy award-winner David Sacks (The Simpsons). Rogers stars in the animated series with Fred Armisen (Portlandia), Tom Kenny (Adventure Time), David Tennant (Dr. Who), Tika Sumpter (Mixed-ish), and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead). The half-hour animated space action/adventure series is produced by Conaco and New Form, with animation production by ShadowMachine.
Season 2 FINALE TONIGHT ON @adultswim Thanks for all the support in the show! Hoping you enjoy this finale! I think it’s pretty epic! GOOD N3WS coming soon 😉 pic.twitter.com/yDhq32jMJr

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
