Hank Azaria Throws In Towel On “Apu”
And fan reaction about what was said.
Last night, actor Hank Azaria was on The Late Show where Stephen Colbert bluntly asked the longtime voice actor for The Simpsons’ “Apu” his updated thoughts on the controversy strung up by The Problem with Apu. If you watch this video, it appears that Hank is ready to throw in the towel on the debate. If you read the accompanying Twitter thread, there’s still very much a debate as to whether or not the character, that fans of all walks of life love, should go.

Before this, the most high profile response to The Problem with Apu debate came from Bill Maher, but others since like Adi Shankar, producer Al Jean, and others have voiced their concerns about the future of the character as well.
In the meantime, we have a brand-new episode of The Simpsons premiering this Sunday Night on FOX @ 8 pm ET/PT, check your local listings.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
