Review: The Jellies “Ray’s Perfect Date”

You’ve seen this bitch before.

Overview

This week’s episode should be familiar to anyone who watched the Golf App version of the series because it follows Ray needing a date to homecoming so Cornell is turned into a woman to go with him, but this time around, Cornell gets pregnant and gives birth to Xzibit. For reference, watch the episode of The Jellies on Golf App entitled “MTV”.

Our Take

Ironically enough, this week’s episode feels a lot like a ride on Xzibit’s Pimp My Ride. Essentially, the producers took one of the episodes already available on the Golf Wang App, threw on a new coat of paint, and then added fuzzy dice, and this is what we got on Adult Swim. I think there were a few parts added like I don’t recall like the black and white montage that I thought was actually really good, but definitely, a lot of the same plot points and jokes produced for the streaming series were reproduced for this version of the episode like all of the MTV jokes and even Cornell being turned into a chick. Hopefully, future episodes will be a bit more original.
