Adult Swim’s Pete Smith Calls It A Day
The voice of Boyd has gone fishin’!
Adult Swim producer Pete Smith is officially retiring from his post after being part of the network for almost 20 years putting together promos, The Brak Show, and Space Ghost Coast to Coast. Pete also voices the role of “Boyd” on Squidbillies which is getting ready to kick off a new season this Fall on Adult Swim.
For those that don’t know, Boyd is the character in Squidbillies that owns the convenience store that Early constantly robs and who then proceeds to shoot off the arm of the rather somber old man.
We wish Pete a happy retirement!
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
