Review: Red vs Blue “Blue vs Blue”

Why so blue?

Spoilers Below

Temple finds out that the Reds and Blues are here, and sends Serge to hold them off. Loco asks to get something from the ship, and after some disagreements, Temple lets him go.

The Reds and Blues split up, and each team leader gives a vaguely rousing speech. Sarge and Serge face off, but Sarge insists that there’s more than just following orders: there’s also knowing right from wrong. They fight, and Sarge saves Serge from falling to his death. He accidentally lets go and kills Serge. The blue team stumbles upon Doc, who supposedly was locked up by the Blues and Reds after he found out they were crazy. He sees that Carolina isn’t doing so well, and insists on helping her. Simmons and Jean start fighting, and Grif can’t tell them apart. Grif asks why they’re here, and he shoots the one that doesn’t give a vague and cryptic answer.

Tucker gets his sword back and approaches Temple at the machine. Temple doesn’t listen to the team about the dangers of the device, and he reveals the machine doesn’t have an off switch. He uses the freezing machine on all of them, but it doesn’t work on Caboose. Temple begins monologuing and explains that he’s going to frame all of them for his plan. Grif tries to make a dramatic entrance but fails. Temple threatens Grif, but after he refuses, Temple fails to pull the trigger. They get the freezing device away from Temple, and Loco ends up being shot by Temple. With his dying breath, says that there’s no way for the machine to turn off, but also gives Caboose batteries to power up Freckles. He says that he manages to make the door for Caboose, before he dies.

With a bright glow of light, the machine activates. Caboose sees Church, who asks him what he’s doing all the way up there.

Overview:

We’ve reached the climax of the story.

The Blues and Reds’ approach to fighting their counterparts is pretty varied. Most, like Serge is all ready to wipe them out, but are still willing to somewhat listen to their enemies. Temple is openly hostile towards all of them but is hesitant when it comes to Grif, which is implies to be because Grif resembles Biff. Loco and Caboose are on good terms, with Loco willingly adding in a portal to when Church was alive, and delivering batteries so Freckles can work again.

That aside, it’s hard to tell what the effects on the present will be. The device was sure to destroy the Earth if it activated, and activated it did. Has the Earth been destroyed, or will it only be destroyed if they mess with the past? It’s hard to tell at this point, so hopefully, more will be revealed soon.
