English Dub Review: The Silver Guardian “Suigin Becomes the Last Tomb Guardian!”
Yaaaaa!
The Silver Guardian finally continues explaining its lore. As Yuuki Riku allows, the tomb guardians and tomb raiders opposed each other for many years. But their powers were equal.
However, over the years the guardians declined in number. Now, there’s but one left: Suigin. The animation is top notch. I really enjoy the massive Transformer-style mecha with an Egyptian twist as well as scorpion creatures. The use of abilities is neat and relayed quite brilliantly on screen.
Additionally, whereas “Suigin’s Chance Encounter with His Grandfather” faltered with its disjointed plot, “Suigin Becomes the Last Tomb Guardian” is increasingly cohesive. That’s largely because it instead follows a plot that doesn’t deviate much from one cast of characters and physical location.
There’s a pretty emotional moment where Suigin loses his grandfather for good and assumes the role of the last tomb guardian. I like how Suigin goes from geeky gamer to badass guardian. It sort of makes sense however as he’s now in a video game and simply acting out what he played. Therefore, the role of guardian is pretty familiar for him.
Overall, it’s an improvement over past episodes and feels more focused.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
