Producers of “Animals” on HBO Added to NY TV Festival

I love it when producers give back to their origins, and that’s exactly what is happening. On October 29th, Mike Luciano and Phil Matarese of Animals on HBO fame will be taking part in the New York Television Festival. The duo were one-time winners of the Best Comedy award at the 2013 rendition of the NYTV Festival which helped kick off the producers’ careers and helped them to eventually land a two-season order of Animals. So, why wouldn’t aspiring TV producers want to hear from them? Open soars aside, if you want to get into the TV business and you live in or near the NYC area, you may want to listen to these guys.

Season one came and went, but Animals is currently in production for a second season which is due to air on HBO probably Q2017. Here’s more information about the event:

NYTVF Development Day offers aspiring creators and TV fans alike a day of panels and events providing both educational and inspirational insight into the creation of television, including the first-ever NYTVF Alumni Keynote Conversation with Mike Luciano and Phil Matarese on hand to discuss taking their 2013 NYTVF Best Comedy winning project Animals from the Festival to HBO, where they’re currently in post-production on their second season.
