BUBBLE CAN Review: The Stanley Dynamic “The Stanley Science”

Science Fairs can be a lot of fun. If you ever went to school, and I’m sure some of you have, chances are you had to make something for some kind of Science Fair. At least a Science Project. I remember in Elementary school, our class wasn’t allowed to make volcanoes because that’s what absolutely everybody would have done, so I ended up making a “gravity powered car”. I made a little car out of household materials and then rolled it down a ramp. I got a B-. I still think I deserved better, but hey, you can’t win them all. On this week’s Stanley Dynamic, Larry and Lori both have a go at a Science Fair of their own. Did they “fair” better than I did with my gravity powered car? And was the episode worth a watch? Read on to find out!

In “The Stanley Science” when Lori enters a Science Fair, Larry also enters under some false pretenses. Meanwhile, in order to get into character to try out for being school mascot, Luke wears a Sasquatch costume everywhere he goes, leading everybody to believe that a real Sasquatch is actually Luke.

This was a fun episode. There were a lot of moving pieces in this episode and they all paid off pretty well. Ronnie and his interactions with Pam were probably my favorite part of the episode. They play off one another very well. This was a very well written episode as well. I’ve mentioned this in previous reviews, but sometimes the jokes come across a little cheesy, but they were all pretty tame this episode. Larry refers to himself as a “science person” a number of times in this episode, which Lori corrects him on. This leads to a pretty funny joke which sort of references Bill Nye The Science Guy. That was gold. The two sasquatch costumes were really cool. One of them was very realistic, while the one Luke wore was very mascot-ish. So everyone not being able to tell the difference was silly, but fun.

The weaker aspect of the episode was Doop, and I think he may be my only complaint about the episode. While usually one of the most entertaining parts about the show, I sort of found him forgettable this time around. There was so much else going on in the episode, something was bound to fade into the back of my mind. His struggle with the pictures on his phone was pretty good though.

Overall, this was a good episode. We saw a lot of different characters and they all had great moments. Larry and Lori’s science fair did end up being far more interesting than mine, but I don’t envy them! This seemed like a particularly fun episode to make, though I’m sure it was hectic at times. It certainly paid off for them nevertheless.
