Shorts Review: Humorous Vacuum Robot Episodes 1 and 2

Humourous Vacuum Robot is a short cartoon series that airs as part of the new Hulu series, Comedy Dynamics: Coming to the Stage and can usually be found 2/3rds of the way through the run time of the stand up series.

In it, we meet a robot whom doubles as a vacuum cleaner that has trouble fitting in with a city mostly ran by robots. He loses his job and gets kicked out of a bar, but by episode two you get the sense that HVR is here to help defend us against some of the biggest evil forces that are out there in the universe.

No voice acting is translated into robot speak which them leads itself to English subtitles, and the animation is a little rough around the edges. That said, there seems to be a lot of heart in this series and while the dialogue doesn’t have a bunch of depth, it is very comical, and as such helps provide a nice break in a stand-up show that seems rather run-of-the-mill.
