UK’s ‘EastEnders’ Plot Twist Reminiscent of ‘Simpsons’ Episode
Fans of the UK soap opera EastEnders had visions of “Who Shot Mr. Burns?” when a recent plot twist revealed young Bobby Beale was the killer of his half-sister Lucy Beale, much like the classic Simpsons in which baby Maggie shoots Springfield’s evil elderly billionaire.
The EastEnders episode aired live on BBC One and afterwards viewers immediately took to the internet with posts, tweets, and memes mocking the shows similarity to The Simpsons‘ 1995 installment.
One fan, @mollymayneary, commented: “Bobby killing Lucy is about as ridiculous as when Maggie shot Mr Burns in the Simpsons.”
Another, @Regan_Barnes, said: “I preferred the episode of the Simpsons when Maggie killed Mr Burns. That was a real plot twist @bbceastenders.”
And so on.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
