#TBT: ‘Dewey Carves a Pumpkin’

Dewey Carves a Pumpkin

Halloween is upon us once again, friends – that special time of year when kids are encouraged to accept candy from strangers, adding the word “slutty” to anything makes an instant costume for the ladies (“Look, everybody; I’m slutty Dora the Explorer!”), and zombies can freely rise from their graves for an evening of aimless wandering without fear of catching an axe to the brain.

In this video, a throwback (#TBT, y’all!) to several years ago, our protagonist enjoys one of the other popular fall activities: carving a jack-o-lantern. “Dewey Carves a Pumpkin” comes courtesy of David Cox who spent two weeks creating the claymation clip.

This might not be the most polished animated short you’ll ever see, but it’s definitely impressive – and as someone who also hails from the capital region of upstate New York, I couldn’t resist a plug. Plus, anyone who can make a cute, funny little Halloween video that also incorporates an audio snippet of Rage Against The Machine is a hero in my book.
