Shorts Review: Stoopid Buddy Shortz – “Justin The Ginger Lifeguard”

Justin the Ginger Lifeguard almost makes you wish you had paler skin and red hair. No, I’m just kidding. But Justin does have the uncanny ability to act confidently despite his issues with pigment. This short immediately calls into question Justin’s actual status as a lifeguard by starting off the jovial song in the short by mentioning that he lives on the beach. The song continues with typical ginger behavior at the beach, from putting on SPF 105 to getting sunburned the second you step outside.

Justin even takes his confidence as far as to approach two young ladies and talk to them. They naturally respond by muttering the classic saying “f*cking gingers” which in no way deters Justin’s confidence. The screen goes back and opens up again on Justin in a doctor’s office. The doctor utters a single word that everyone can already hear coming: skin cancer. And while the ginger stereotypes were amusing, the skin cancer seemed a bit expected and not very creative.
