Review: Lucas Bros. Moving Company ‘Beeper Beeper’

Spoilers Below

The brothers run into Eddie Griffin’s former limo driver at a swap meet who has a whole bunch of Eddie’s old shit including his old beeper. The guys end up buying the beeper for a $100, and Jerrod shows Keef and Kenny how to use the beeper using a local pay phone. Right off the bat the guys get zapped back to 1995 which the guys don’t seem to mind because Keef, Kenny, and Jerrod all loved 1995. First thing the guys do is purchase up the last two Bone Thugz records, but then the younger versions of Kenny and Keef show up to try and get the Bonez records, but end up purchasing Oasis records instead. This causes a Back to the Future effect where the older Lucas’ are starting to disappear and if they don’t make their younger selves agree, then it would be like the Bros. never really were Bros. The older Lucas’ break into their old homes and kidnap their younger selves and taken them to a simply awful Eddie Murphy movie. The younger bros. end up being friends again, but then the cops show up and nearly end it for the older brothers. Thankfully, Jerrod saves Keef and Kenny and takes off on a high-speed chase through Brooklyn which leads them to a pay phone. The guys get paged RIGHT in the nick of time, but their moving truck is pretty much screwed.

Do you kids even know what a beeper is? Another solid episode of Lucas, however the plot was all over the place. No joke, there were great ideas for three episodes, everything from getting to see how big Eddie was in the 90s, to the influence of Bone Thugz, and even a bit more playing around with the pay phone. In any case, the guys stay true to the rules of time travel and Tyler, the Creator continues to separate himself from the scumbaggery that is Justin Bieber, and become a rather serious voice actor following his stint as Liborg on Axe Cop. Also, extra points goes to the band Oasis for being the butt of the entire joke.
