The Gronkowskis (yes THOSE ones) are pitching an animated series
Of all of the Gronkowskis I am probably most familiar with Rob and Chris. Rob because he’s the starting tight end on the New England Patriots and as a result is usually the starting tight end for everyone’s fantasy football team. Chris Gronkowski was a full back for my Dallas Cowboys and is probably most famous for missing a block on Michael Boley for the Giants which lead to Quarterback Tony Romo getting knocked out of the season with a broken clavicle.
Welp, guess what? There are MORE Gronkowskis and they are all big guys that would probably kick our collective asses given the opportunity. However, they decided to go the funnier route as Deadspin is reporting that the brothers are trying to shop around a new animated series called The Gronks. From the sounds of it this isn’t some sort of publicity stunt, because starting in the offseason the brothers plan to help in the pitch process and even better they plan to bring on Family Guy exec-producer Ricky Blitt to help co-write the project.
The Deadspin article would go on to say that: The Gronks would be a lightly fictionalized look at adventures of the Gronkowski clan, the five brothers, Gordy Jr., Chris, Dan, Glenn, and Rob, three of whom are in the NFL, and scion Gordy, aka Papa Gronk. Adventures like the time Rob emailed his teacher and told him to suck his dick, or took a Viagra pill before a Las Vegas pool party to impress women with his “semi-boner.”
Something tells me, Cartoon Network and Disney Channel are off the books on this one and that’s just fine with us! Check out a trailer for the series here and let’s all pray that this doesn’t become The Lebrons.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
