Bubbleblabber vs Carl’s Stone Cold Pick of the NFL Week 1: Pats vs Bills
Last year during the NFL Season we simply just posted up Carl’s picks of the week for the entirety of the NFL Season. THIS Season we decide to do something a little cooler. This year we wanted to CHALLENGE Carl and make our own pick of the week, and then tally up the end of the season to see who is the REAL Stone Cold! Well, besides the one living on Broken Skull Ranch of course. Check out picks from both Bubbleblabber Editor John Blabber AND Carl from Aqua TV Show Show.
Carl takes New England. And it’s hard for me to disagree, and not only do I think New England wins this game I think the team takes the rest of the AFC East. Not because they have the best players or anything, but the AFC East is the only division in the NFL to have every single team give up before Week 1. The Jets are a hapless bunch, Miami is a transition team that I can see going 8-8, but they made a lot of bad personnel changes as of the last couple of seasons, and down below you can see what we think of the upcoming seasons for both the Bills and the Pats as they embark on their 2013 campaigns.
Buffalo Bills:
These guys haven’t been able to find a quality QB since Jim Kelly and my Cowboys knocked their collective dicks in twice in three years. Some teams can get by with a mediocre QB but with a stellar Defense and this team has neither. Buffalo ranked at the bottom half of the league last year on D proving that Mario Williams wasn’t the second coming of Christ that everyone thought he was going to be on the Line. I look at this team’s 2013 schedule and I’m thinking they have MAYBE six winnable games, divide those odds by half and Buffalo fans are staring at a 3 win team this year.
New England Patriots:
How is it that Aaron Hernandez became the BAD Tight End? Does anyone else remember when Rob Gronkowski was the one slumming around at parties acting like a big doof? That said, say good bye to New England’s ’12 personnel’ offense for the 2013 season as they simply don’t have the tools to do it again however it doesn’t mean the team can’t still be near the top in terms of team rankings on O. Yea, Tom Brady is aging, but Jesus H. Christ, he is only a couple years removed from getting to a Super Bowl so its not like his game is slipping which is evidenced by the way he played last season (Tom Brady AVERAGED 300 yards a game passing). You forget, both he and Brett Favre played a bunch of their respective careers in states that get really cold and if Futurama has taught us anything its that if you keep something (or someone) cold then it lasts longer. New England didn’t have a great D last year neither, but when you had a first ranked offense you could ignore that. This year, New England will have another solid season and will probably finish 10-6 or 11-5, but with Cincy, Houston, and Denver all looking impressive this off season don’t be surprised to see a first or second round knock out in the playoffs.
Bubbleblabber Pick: New England beats Buffalo 37 -10
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
