Review: The Cleveland Show ‘Fist and the Furious’
Spoilers Below
Dr. Fist and Cleveland become fast friends after Cleveland goes through a rigorous round of tests which sees the two hang out a lot. The only reason why Cleveland went in the first place is because he thought he was dying, but as it turns out Fish really wanted the company. After hashing out some differences, Fist offers Cleveland his friends to come over and have a brew in his huge house with an indoor pool! Later, after an evening at the park, Cleveland tries to surprise Fist with more friends, but all he gets is a raving car chase courtesy of the mob! Turns out Fist’s name is Greenjarvis BenEllis and he used to be the doctor for the mob. Eventually, the guys get caught, but Cleveland shoots Greenjarvis causing the mobsters to go away. But, really it was just a stand-in and Greenjarvis survives.
Meanwhile, Rallo and Junior open up a food truck, but Choni opens one up too. To help, Rallo heads over to the Krinklesacs so that he can get some sort of a rodent or insect to help skip this bitch out of town. The health inspector comes by and shuts down her truck due to a cockroach infestation. In an attempt to clear Choni’s name, Rallo and Jr go to the health inspector and convinces him with the miracle of modern science to let their one time competitor back in the business.
I keep forgetting how awesome Bryan Cranston is at being a voice actor. Seriously, he shows up to this cast and pretty much carries them on his back. His pitch is flawless, his delivery smooth, and most importantly he is funny. Take all that and you have a successful guest star that carries the initial plot and helps elevate everyone’s game. That said, Cleveland had some good gags too, like flying to the hospital, getting beaten up by a bunch of Asian dudes, and directing Rallo and Junior’s scenes. The food truck plot was weird because it saw the kids go up against a character we hadn’t seen in about a year and on top of that we’ve had food truck stories with Bob’s and Regular Show that did it a LOT better. As a result this week’s episode was all fist, but not a lot of furious.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
