“FOR YOUR ICE ONLY”
The Flynn-Fletcher family has got hockey fever when they install an ice rink in their back yard. The parents, Candace, and Jeremy decide to actually go to a hockey arena where a game being refereed by Luc Robitaille is set to take place, but Candace knows nothing about hockey and has to have her friend Stacy talk her through some hockey pointers. Phineas and Ferb take part in a kids hockey game midway through 2nd intermission but its not your normal hockey game. Its called Z-9 and its basically hockey on steroids featuring ice statues that breathe fire, snowmen that shoot ire, and polar bears running wild. Candace uses this as an opportunity to get her brothers in trouble, but she has to go find her mom first of whom is looking for a disposable camera.
But where’s Perry? He heads to Doof’s evil igloo hideout where he gets trapped by Doof’s marshmallow. Doof thinks he’s been too nice as of late and reveals his new -inator that when used, turns anything it zaps into hairy, gross creatures. Unfortunately, Doof shoots himself in the ass, causing IT to get bigger and hairier, to the point that it topples the igloo down a hill where he finishes his transformation and starts to fight Perry. The fight leads to the hockey rink which ends in Perry getting to be the winner, and the Z-9 hockey game getting wiped out just in time for Linda to get back to take the kids’ pictures cz their so cute!
Happy New Year
Vivian is watching the kids and Candace is heading off to a party with her parents so Phineas, Ferb, and friends have the night to themselves. As such, Phineas decides that he wants to build the biggest ball drop for New Years Eve ever! This ball is loaded, too! With enough room for a small army, this New Year’s ball has tons of activities to keep the tiredest of kids up past midnight, right on time for the drop!
Where’s Perry? While the rest of the OWCA are off honeymooning in the warm climates, Perry has to go fight Doof at City Hall. Perry’s there just in time to catch Doof planning something with the diabolical Norm. Doof actually captures Perry, then heads off to the same adult party that Linda, Candace, Stacy, Larry , Jeremy, and some random dude for Stacy. Candace is intent on making a resolution where she will no longer bust his brothers, but she’s starting to relapse and decides to use her last hour before the year is over to bust her siblings once and for all
Candace gets to the ball and runs into Irving of whom is live podcasting the whole ordeal. She returns to the party, where Doof just got beat by Perry, and puts up the space ball up on a big screen TV for everyone to see with the exception of Linda of whom Candace now needs to go find. Unfortunately for her the ball drops and Doof zaps everyone with a resolution-ator where everyone is supposed to be following him to ransack city hall. But, no one keeps their resolution, and the whole cast decides to stop what they are doing and just party on…Happy New Year!!!
With the holidays fast-approaching, why not do a double feature?? ‘Ice Only’ was very well done in terms of the plots, and I couldn’t help but miss hockey, but seeing the Z-9 take on it certainly helped out. The Perry/Doof plot was a bit under-serving until the end where they pretty much crashed the game of which I thought was a rather humorous way to intertwine the two stories. The New Year plot I thought was the superior episode of the two, but I wish Norm was used a bit more, because he’s my favorite character. Also, I think Candace and her brothers grew up a bit this episode in terms of character development and it will be interesting to see if that continues as we move through 2013. It’s good to see the writers over at Phineas and Ferb give us a not-so-typical ending to help close out the year, and show us all that they still know how to have fun.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
