REVIEW: THE CLEVELAND SHOW “AMERICAN PRANKSTER”

Rallo goes overboard with one of his pranks, and Cleveland Jr. is kicked out of the scouts as a result. So Cleveland threatens to send Rallo to juvenile detention.

Spoilers Below

Rallo is at the grocery store with his mom and he gets a $1 to spend on whatever he wants in the store. He opts to buy a phony can of mixed nuts to rank Cleveland, but it doesnt stop their, as Junior, the grandparents, and even the neighbor bears are all pranked by the town’s new Dennis the Menace. Eventually, Rallo gets yelled at by Donna and she ends up giving his desert to Junior which gets him PISSED!  To get revenge, Rallo gets a hold of Junior’s PowerPoint in time for his presentation at school, and the little guy inserts a naked pic of Junior in one of the slides.

Donna grounds Rallo and takes away everything that was in his room. Obviously, it doesn’t work so Cleveland instead takes Rallo to church but while there the trouble-making step-son gets taken away in hand cuffs for distributing indecent photos of children. At his hearing Rallo appears before the judge and gets sentenced to 6 months in juvy where he eventually runs away into a nearby forest. Thankfully due to Junior’s ‘Stupid Scout’ training he tracks down his baby brother in time to tell Rallo that this was all a prank setup by Cleveland. Trouble ensues when Rallo trips on a rock and ends up in a river until Junior saves him from impending death.

Just like with tonight’s Bob’s Burgers, this week’s episode of Cleveland Show thankfully gives us one plot that is easy to follow and yummy to chew instead of force-feeding us two rehashed plots which more often than not becomes the case. Rallo was awesome with all his pranks, with some of my favorites being all the bathroom gags at the expense of Cleveland. There were a bunch of little bits this week too, like Junior’s nod to Vacation’s Clark Griswold, Donna punching Cleveland square in the nose, and when Tickle Me Elmo doesn’t play nice with Cleveland, Cleveland doesn’t play nice with Tickle Me Elmo! But, the prize this week was the cutaway gag with John Edwards that I am not even going to spoil here as it should be watched by all!
