REVIEW: THE CLEVELAND SHOW(@ClevelandonFox) “THE MEN IN ME”

Cleveland tries to get a grip on his racial identity after he’s labeled “the whitest man in America” because of his taste in pop music. Meeting his childhood nanny helps him succeed.

Spoilers Below

Justin Bieber’s comin’ to town and Cleveland’s trying to get sold out tix to take Junior.  To get the tix, Cleveland enters a dance contest where he is given the honor of “whitest black man in America”. To figure out why he doesn’t act like a typical black dude, Cleveland talks to his mom who tells him of a old white woman who used to be his nanny. Its here Cleveland is able to get a take on why he loves Arnie Palmies, tennis, and Bridge card games and eventually invites his former nanny over for dinner. This of course causes a big argument at the dinner table amongst his nanny and his family which causes Cleveland to storm out of the house and right into a song. Thankfully, the nanny finds Cleveland and makes him feel more comfortable about who he is, just in time for the Bieber concert.

Are Justin Bieber jokes still funny? I mean I think he’s a bitch just as much as the next straight dude, but Bieber jokes are SO last year. As a result this week’s episode felt dated to both start and close the episode, but the Oreo filling(see what I did there?) in the middle was half way decent enough that the entire episode wasn’t garbage. Rallo was funny, and Freight Train is always in for a good time. Florence Henderson’s lines were really great and quite unexpected, and I thought she had quite a lot of balls to say some of the shit she said.
