Russell Brand and Justin Theroux are getting animated
Well, we think Russell Brand might be, but really both guys are pitching animated series to FOX to begin production I dont’ know when…NYMag.com was the first to report that Get Him to the Greek star Russell Brand is pitching an animated series with Bob’s Burgers writers Dan Fybel and Rich Rinaldi. No word yet on if Brand is voicing a character or not, but I bet he does. No word yet on the setting or anything like that, however.
Justin Theroux’s animated show sounds a bit more produced according to the article:
“Theroux is writing the half-hour, which revolves around a present-day Archie Bunker type who pines for the nineties and loathes his New York surroundings. There’s a twist, however: Unlike the Archie of the the seventies, this curmudgeon falls on the left wing of the political spectrum.”
Sounds interesting, and I was a big fan of the movies “Your Highness” and of course “Tropic Thunder” so this could be a pretty funny gig. David Gordon Green who directed “Your Highness” has done a fabulous job with “Good Vibes” so here’s hoping Justin carries the ball and runs with it!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
