Fall 2013 Animated TV Preview

Ahhh yea, football, brown leaves, and Fall season premiers! After the jump get highlight previews for the season’s biggest animated shows!

Brickleberry

Brickleberry

Network: Comedy Central

Premier Date: 9/4/2013 @ 10:30 pm EST

We’ve been certainly keeping an eye on Brickleberry Season 2 and the premier episode did NOT disappoint. With new addition Natasha Leggero and upcoming guest stars like John DiMaggio (Futurama) and Mark Hamill (Star Wars) on the way, Brickleberry looks to continue the trend of hysterically written TV for the next 12 weeks.

Check out our interview with the creators of Brickleberry where they talk about Season 2 here.

South Park

south-park-season-15-300x225

Network: Comedy Central

Premier Date: 9/25/2013 @ 10:00 pm EST

Since the season finale of South Park last year on Comedy Central creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have been working on a new game for home consoles, travelling the planet on support of Book of Mormonand have hired on the brilliant Bill Hader as a full time writer. South Park goes from 14 episodes a season to 10, but I’m sure all they have to do is check out CNN.com and get a whole year’s worth of ideas.

The Simpsons

Network: FOX

Premier Date: 9/29/2013 @ 8 pm EST

The Simpsons have a whole lot of guest stars coming this Season like Zach Galifianakis (“The Hangover Part III”), Rachel Maddow (“TheRachel Maddow Show”), legendary Marvel Comics writer Stan Lee, critically acclaimed author Harlan Ellison, Anderson Cooper (“Anderson Cooper 360º”), Eva Longoria (“Desperate Housewives”), producer Judd Apatow, Will Arnett (“Arrested Development”) and Daniel Radcliffe (the “Harry Potter” franchise) with a whole lot more. That said the real story is the Futurama/The Simpsons crossover episode happening at the end of the season which COULD act as a backdoor pilot of sorts. In any case, The Simpsons had a rather stellar season 24…25 could make this series a top 10 contender.

Bob’s Burgers

BobsBurgers

Network: FOX

Premier Date: 9/29/2013 @ 8:30 pm EST

Really of all the shows, Bob’s Burgers usually stays quiet in the off season but with the list of guest stars this upcoming season don’t be surprised if the show appears in our Top Ten at the end of the year. Stellar names like Will Forte (MacGruber), Kathryn Hahn (Step Brothers), and Jordan Peele (Key and Peele) are in tow to go along with a bunch of others, but its how those stars fit in with the cast is the real juice of this series. Oh yea, that and the fact that we have Jon Benjamin, Dan Mintz, John Roberts, Kristen Schaal, and Gene Mirman that comprise maybe one of the best ensemble casts in all of animated television.

Family Guy

Network: FOX

Premier Date: 9/29/2013 @ 9:00 pm EST

BIG story this season is the promise of new Exec Producer mentioning that one of the Griffins will die and after checking out the press release for the Simpsons/Family Guy cross over set to happen Fall 2014, you will notice that neither Brian nor Chris are listed as showing up which means at LEAST we can narrow down the suspects. Lots of good guest stars coming up with Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom), Liam Neeson (Taken), and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), but for the first time in several years Family Guy’s biggest story may not be who IS on the show…but who ISN’T.

American Dad

Amdad

Network: FOX

Premier Date: 9/29/2013 @ 9:30 pm EST

Last season the American Dad premier was a mess, but overall the season finished strong as the sci-fi elements started to play a larger role in the make up of the show writing. That said, this is the last season in which we are going to see American Dad on FOX before the show switches to TBS and as a result the producers didn’t go light on the guest stars as we have Mark Cuban, Olivia Wilde, and others but it will be even more interesting to see what goes down with Jeff this season post the last time we saw him.
