Today In Obituaries: “The Boondocks” John Witherspoon Passes

One of the most well-known and funniest people in showbiz ever to do it, the great John Witherspoon has passed away at the age of 77. John has a laundry list of show business accolades having had prominent roles in Friday, Wayans Bros., The Boondocks, and more. The actor is survived by his wife Angela and his boys JD and Alexander.

JD’s star has started to rise to prominence having been a featured voice for Sugar and Toys where he actually performed a sketch as his father. While promoting the show, JD and John broke the news earlier this year that The Boondocks would be returning where John voiced the role of “Grandad” the grandfather and legal guardian of Huey and Riley Freeman. It was expected that John would have reprised that role.

John Witherspoon, you will be sorely missed.
