The Producers of “Archer” Are Working On A Marvel Animated Series

Floyd County Productions have started posting job listings looking for producers to help out on an as-yet-known Marvel animated series or project of some kind. For those that don’t know, Floyd County Productions is the excellent production stidops behind such series as Archer, Archer, more Archer, and maybe a Netflix series. Right now we haven’t a clue what they are working on, but we have a guess…

Our Take

There are a few connections between Floyd County Productions and Marvel that one could surmise where this is going. For starters, Floyd County Productions was rumored to be the animation studio selected for the canceled Deadpool animated series that never happened for pre-Disney owned FX featuring Donald Glover in the starring role. Next, Dave Willis, who lives near the Atlanta-based studio and is longtime pals with studio founders Matt Thompson and Adam Reed, is currently co-creating an animated series adaptation of Howard the Duck with Kevin Smith. Kevin recently made note that the upcoming Disney-owned Hulu adult animated series will begin writing later this year with Dave assembling the writers’ room within the next couple of months. Howard the Duck will be the last of the four announced iterations of The Offenders that will premiere.

And of course, this announcement could be none of this, but if I were betting, I’d put money on that last bit right there. Dave is getting ready to kick off the 12th season of Squidbillies in a couple of weeks and he provides the voice of my personal favorite character from Archer “Barry” who was a big part of that banger of a season finale that aired the other night on FXX.
